Founded by Randee Eddins in 1991, the Seattle-based African-American Writers Alliance is a diverse, dynamic collective of writers of African descent that provides an informal, supportive forum for new and published writers. We help one another polish our skills, provide peer review, and create opportunities for public readings and other media venues. With the continued vision of her son, Rajnii Eddins, and Dr. Georgia McDade, we encourage our members to publish individually and collectively.​ Our stories—triumphs, tragedies, and whatever is within and between the two—are the history of African Americans. We must tell our stories in our words and encourage others to do the same.​​
