GiveBig 2026 Approaches!

GiveBIG 2026 will kick off on April 28 and culminate in a 24-hour giving event on May 5, 2026!

Thank you to our sponsors and longtime supporters of the African- American Writers Alliance, a fiscally sponsored organization.
Your generosity has helped sustain this safe harbor for Black aspiring and published writers for thirty-five years.
Especially, in this critical time, when our history is calling for us to archive it, record it, and
re-member.
This is a sacred call to action that takes the effort of us all.

If AAWA has helped you feel seen, strengthened your craft, or expanded what you believe is possible for Black writers, please consider giving today.

ABOUT US

The Seattle-based African-American Writers' Alliance (AAWA), a diverse and dynamic collective of writers of African descent provides an informal and supportive forum for new and published writers. We help one another polish our skills, provide peer review, and create opportunities for public readings and other media venues. Ultimately the group encourages members to publish individually and collectively.

Our stories—triumphs, tragedies, and whatever is within and between the two—are the history of African Americans. We must tell our stories in our words and encourage others to do the same.
