The Seattle-based African-American Writers' Alliance (AAWA), a diverse and dynamic collective of writers of African descent, provides an informal and supportive forum for new and published writers. We help one another polish our skills, provide peer review, and create opportunities for public readings and other media venues. We encourage our members to publish individually and collectively. Our stories—triumphs, tragedies, and whatever is within and between the two—are the history of African Americans. We must tell our stories in our words and encourage others to do the same.

August Community Outreach
Summer Tabling Opportunity
AAWA members!,
We have several opportunities throughout the summer to meet the public and introduce AAWA to new folks. Most opportunities are at community festivals or events and would require 2-4 hours of your time.
Two or three members at each event would be a good way to advertise the Conference. If you would like to participate, get another member or two!
Here are some possible opportunities for August. Please email us if you are interested!
